Their own wordsReid has completed a B.Sc. (Honours Degree), Sport and Exercise Psychology and a M.Sc. in Psychology with a major in Sport. In addition to his degrees, he has specialized training in mental skills coaching and post graduate courses in counselling psychology. Reid’s interest in the area of Sport Psychology was developed through his own experience as an athlete where he had the opportunity to play a number of sports at an elite level, including USport. He is passionate about helping athletes develop new techniques and strategies that help them reach their full potential while managing the pressures of competing at an elite level.
Reid recognizes the importance of assessment and positive mental health outside of the world of sports. As a Registered Provisional Psychologist in Alberta, his main areas of focus are Assessment/Educational Psychology and Counselling Psychology. His main approach is cognitive behavioural therapy. He enjoys supporting clients in identifying the connection between thoughts, feelings, and behaviours. Reid understands that by supporting clients in recognizing unhealthy thought patterns and behaviours, they can begin to make changes to assist them improve their mental well-being.
