Renee Taylor is a passionate practitioner of Acupuncture and Doctor of Traditional Chinese Medicine and has been in practice for 20 years. She is continuously inspired by the interconnectedness and holistic philosophies which govern Chinese Medicine diagnostics and treatments and feels honoured to help her client’s achieve and maintain greater well-being. Some of her patients are just looking for relaxation or ease from troubling symptoms and others are seeking transformation or support navigating serious health conditions.
Over the past 20 years Renee has journeyed in different styles and systems of acupuncture but most recently, in 2020 she was introduced to the Sa’am Acupuncture tradition of the Korean wondering monks in and found this system to be very useful in the majority of cases.
Renee co-founded Acumamas Wellness Vancouver in 2008 from her passion for women’s health, fertility and pregnancy and has had the honor in attending over a hundred births as both an acupuncturist and doula. She has treated thousands of pregnant women and has helped countless families achieve their goals in becoming parents. What she learned in that decade has influenced her practice and really enjoys working with people in all walks of life through the different phases and transitions in life.
Renee takes great joy in being of service to her patients and is dedicated to continuing her studies in order to best serve her clients. Renee has completed extensive post-graduate studies with the world leaders for Acupuncture and Chinese Medicine in Canada, the US, Europe and Asia. She completed 5 years Chinese Medicine in Vancouver and enjoyed an internship in Tsu chi Hospital in Taiwan. Her primary areas of continuing education have been in modern and classical Acupuncture and herbal medicine. Women’s health, Fertility, Pregnancy, Childbirth, Pediatrics as well as Advanced Auricular Acupuncture and Shen-Hammer pulse system and is especially grateful to her teacher Toby Daly (and his teacher) who gave the gift of sharing the unique and powerful lineage of the Sa’am tradition with her.
Renee Taylor is a registrant with the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of British Columbia, a member of the Obstetrical Acupuncture association and is a doula and previously taught at Pacific Rim College for their holistic doula program acupressure for birth.
Renee is pleased to call the Comox Valley her home and can not wait to hike an adventure in our mountains once she finished rehabilitating her ankle post injury.
