**RICHARD HAS RETURNED TO PRACTICE- BOOK NOW!! ***
Richard’s passion is helping his clients feel well so they get off the sidelines and back into the game. Having studied biomechanics and treatment techniques in muscle rehabilitation, he is a firm believer in the ability of the body’s built-in healing mechanisms and knows healthy feet are a key component to overall health.
Since graduating from the Okanagan Valley College of Massage Therapy in 2004, Richard has worked as a Registered Massage Therapist in massage clinics specializing in sport medicine and wellness centres. He is qualified to treat athletes as well as individuals suffering from injuries, motor vehicle crashes and other physiological conditions. Richard is also a master instructor with Evidence Based Fitness Academy and continues to expand his knowledge of health through on-going course study.
Richard’s goal is to help his clients get their body into an ideal state of health by balancing how the body works through Massage Therapy techniques. Some of the techniques he draws upon to repair injured ligaments, muscles, fascia and tendons are Deep Tissue Swedish Massage, Myofascial Techniques, Trigger Point Therapy and Active Mobility and Stretching.
Richard knows the body can realign and begin the process of healing itself and regenerating tissues when the right conditions allow it to happen. He is trained to help minimize pain and discomfort from scar tissue, which builds up in our bodies after injury or surgery. He takes the time to assess your condition in order to properly identify the root cause and then help the body regain flexibility and range of motion through massage therapy.
Richard chooses barefoot and minimalist shoes for exercise and his everyday footwear to maintain his optimal health. Having completed ironman competitions and marathons, Richard remains active through a weekly running club and practicing at the archery range when he’s not spending time with his wife and two young children.
