Based on holistic principles, TCM views the body as an interconnected system. It emphasizes balance, particularly between Yin and Yang, and the flow of Qi (vital energy) through meridians. Health is seen as a state of harmony, and disease as a result of imbalances or blockages. Uses techniques such as pulse diagnosis, tongue examination, and questioning to assess the state of Qi, Yin, Yang, and organ function. Diagnosis is holistic, considering physical, emotional, and environmental factors.
n Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM), perimenopause is viewed as a natural transition rather than a condition to be "fixed." As we age, our body's nourishing Yin naturally declines, which can create an imbalance between Yin and Yang. This may contribute to symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats, anxiety, irritability, poor sleep, fatigue, brain fog, and irregular menstrual cycles. Acupuncture works by restoring balance within the body. Each treatment is tailored to your unique pattern of symptoms, helping to nourish Yin, calm the mind, support healthy circulation, and encourage your body's natural ability to adapt to hormonal changes. Many women report sleeping more soundly, feeling calmer, experiencing fewer hot flashes, and having more stable energy and mood after a series of treatments. While every person responds differently, many begin noticing improvements within 4–6 treatments, with 8–12 sessions often recommended for more lasting results. Perimenopause is a new chapter—not the end of feeling like yourself. Acupuncture offers gentle, individualized support to help you move through this transition with greater comfort, balance, and vitality.
Based on the holistic principles of traditional chinese medicine, your practitioner will use a variety of TCM techniques including but not limited to Acupuncture, Fire Cupping, Silicone Cupping and/or Gua Sha.

Fire cupping is a traditional Chinese therapy where glass cups are heated with a flame and placed on the skin. As the air inside the cup cools, it creates a vacuum that draws the skin upwards into the cup. This technique promotes circulation, relieves muscle tension, and aids in detoxification. Body Gua Sha is a therapeutic technique in TCM where a smooth-edged tool made of metal or other materials, is used to scrape the skin. This scraping action helps stimulate circulation, release muscle tension, and promotes blood flow in the body. Gua Sha is commonly used to alleviate pain, reduce inflammation, and support overall wellness.

As you approach the final weeks of pregnancy, your body is already preparing for birth. Labour induction acupuncture is a gentle, natural treatment designed to support this process by encouraging your body to do what it is already preparing to do—when the time is right. Treatments help promote relaxation, improve circulation to the uterus and cervix, and support the natural hormones involved in labour. Many expectant parents leave feeling calmer, sleeping better, and more confident as they await their baby's arrival. For healthy, full-term pregnancies, treatments typically begin at 38–39 weeks, with 1–2 sessions per week. If you go past your due date, treatments may be recommended every 2–3 days until labour begins or your care plan changes. Most people benefit from 2–4 treatments. While acupuncture cannot guarantee labour will start, it may help prepare your body for birth and support a smoother transition into labour when your baby is ready. Always discuss induction acupuncture with your midwife or obstetrician before beginning treatment.
