Dr. Samia Ibrahim is an experienced physician, researcher, teacher and counselor. Her academic background is considerable and wide-ranging, with a common thread of service. Shortly after finishing her Medical Degree in Egypt, she accepted a scholarship to Cornell University in New York to Pursue a Master’s Degree in Immunology and later a Ph.D. in Nutrition. Following her graduate studies, she continued in higher education setting as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Cornell before Moving to Michigan where she taught as an Assistant Professor at Madonna University and as an Instructor at Wayne County College. During this time, she branched out into field of health and Nutrition counselling. In 1996, Dr. Ibrahim moved to Canada with her family. Motivated to nurture the educational and social needs of her three children, she was inspired to become a teacher. She received her Bachelor of Education from the University of Windsor in 1998 and became a certified high school teacher in Ontario. She has taught and counselled children and adults from diverse backgrounds across Canada, USA and Egypt. She is a concerned caring educator who has an excellent rapport with students. In 2019, Dr. Ibrahim participated successfully in the Manual Lymph Drainage (Vodder Technique) and Complete Decongestive Therapy (CDT) Training Program with Klose Training. She has competency and proficiency in the techniques of MLD and CDT as well as lymphedema bandaging. She takes great personal satisfaction from learning and sharing her knowledge and unique experience to support her students, colleagues and community.
