I began my own Pilates practice in 2018 after suffering a back injury and subsequent surgeries. I went from living a very active lifestyle enjoying many outdoor pursuits to living in chronic pain, reduced mobility, deconditioning, fear of movement and lack of confidence in my own body. The Integra Team and Pilates have provided me with an environment of support, a foundation of knowledge and an appreciation of my body’s adaptability and resilience. I am excited be a part of the Integra team bringing Pilates based movement practice to others.
Pilates has offered me a way to not only reduce pain while regaining strength, mobility and function in my daily life, but also a way to trust in my body again and find joy in movement. Going through my own health journey has led me to deepen my knowledge, understanding and embodiment of functional movement patterns, the connection and importance of breath to movement, and the integration of mind and body in ones’ healing. My hope is to bring my passion for Pilates to others who are in their own healing journey. Pilates is for every body and I’ve been able to work with a variety of clients, including those with complex chronic conditions and post stroke. My clients’ have ranged from their 20’s to 80’s.
Pilates will be a lifelong practice for me and I am excited to be well on my way to completing my 450 hour Comprehensive Pilates Training (NPCP approved). I continue to deepen my knowledge and exploration through continued education and self-practice as well as through the collaboration with the Integra Team.
When I’m not working or practicing Pilates, I enjoy walking with my husband and dog around Crescent Beach and spending time in my garden.
