AjouterHi! My name is Sarah and I am a Physiotherapist as well as a certified Pelvic Health Physiotherapist. I started at this clinic in 2022 providing Pelvic Health Care and recently made a change to stay full time and provide rehab for all individuals. I love every day being different and working in a small community.
I graduated in 2008 from Dalhousie University with a Masters of Science in Physical Therapy. Having grown up in Nova Scotia I love all things that remind me of the East Coast! Fun Fact...I was a competitive synchronized swimmer and trained for the NS Canada Games Team.

I have worked many years in the hospital setting (inpatient and outpatient) in areas for Adults and Pediatrics. Most recently at the RAH Urogynecology clinic for Women's Health. My diverse experience in rehab has continued to drive my passion to help clients aid in their recovery from injury or surgery. I believe movement is medicine and a holistic approach is key in a person's recovery.
With the majority of my clinic time being devoted to various injury rehab, I do have a special interest in all things related to Pre & Postnatal, working with children and treating various Lumbo-Pelvic pain problems. A profession in Physiotherapy means a continuum of learning. Some recent courses I have taken includes, C-section Recovery, Pelvic Girdle Pain in Pregnancy, Treating Incontinence and pelvic dysfunction, Level 1 Dry Needling, McKenzie Lumbar Spine, Pain Science, Mary Massey Linking Breathing and Postural Control. I'm currently working on a Pregnancy and Postpartum Corrective Exercise Specialist Certificate.
As a a busy mom of 3 kids you will probably find me at the hockey rink with a coffee in hand, enjoying Pilates or yoga classes and spending time with my family.

70% of women over 30 yrs old suffer from a form of incontinence – whether they have had a baby or not. Urinary incontinence is NOT normal aging – like any condition, it has treatment options and can be improved. At this time, there is scientific evidence of the highest standard that shows a “supervised pelvic floor strengthening program administered and monitored by a physical therapist with specialized training is the best early intervention.” The assessment is a 60 minute, 1 on 1 session that you spend in a private treatment room with your therapist. The privacy and duration of the assessment allow a thorough discussion regarding your overall health concerns, including your pelvic health. The physical assessment and treatment can include either an external and/or an internal portion.

This service is for people who are seeking GunnIMS/dry needling as their treatment. IMS is IntraMuscular Stimulation. You will receive a full Physiotherapy assessment, followed by IMS treatment.
A follow up visit, for a region that has been assessed by your physiotherapist in the last 3 months.
This is for follow-up treatments for patients who have already had a pelvic floor assessment and want treatment to remain specialized in that region.
This treatment is for people seeking IMS/Dry Needling to a region that has been assessed by their treating therapist in the last 3 months.
This initial Physiotherapy assessment will be done using telehealth/video conferencing. It can be done for most Physiotherapy needs. You will need an internet connection and a laptop, tablet or smartphone for this appointment.
This appointment is for patients who have previously had an appointment within the last three months and are appropriate for telehealth/videoconferencing.
