Sarah came to Vancouver from Cape Town , South Africa, in 2023. The move had been 13 years in the making and finally the time was right.
Sarah graduated with a BSc in physiotherapy from the University of Cape Town in 1998. She worked in rural public hospitals, private hospitals and her own private clinic until 2011 when she felt she needed to revitalize her practice. She enrolled in a Masters in manipulative therapy and graduated in 2013. The Masters re engaged her passion for physiotherapy. The Master’s program delved in depth into every joint of the body, pain science, clinical thinking and communication. Sarah continued to work in in her private practice and began teaching undergraduate and post graduate students in various areas of physio, from the cervical spine to communication.
Sarah has a special interest headaches and neck pain, as well as pelvic floor physiotherapy. Sarah has enjoyed a large variety of sports over the years from volleyball and basketball to running, biking and boxing. This has maintained a deep interest in sports injuries and their rehabilitation.
She is passionate about continuing education and takes every opportunity to learn from national and international courses, journals and conferences. The field of physiotherapy knowledge is growing rapidly and keeping up with the latest information is essential to maintain evidence based treatments.
In her spare time she enjoys time with her husband and young family, exploring Vancouver and surrounds, hiking and playing the saxophone.
