An ICBC Occupational Therapy Initial Assessment is a comprehensive, two-hour evaluation designed to determine how injuries from a motor vehicle accident impact your daily functioning. A Registered Occupational Therapist will assess your physical, cognitive, and emotional abilities to identify barriers to your self-care, home tasks, and work routines. The findings are then used to create a customized rehabilitation plan and request funding from ICBC for necessary treatments, equipment, or support services.

An ICBC Occupational Therapy Subsequent Visit is a focused, 60-minute treatment session dedicated to implementing your personalized rehabilitation plan. During these sessions, the therapist works with you on active recovery strategies, cognitive exercises, and energy conservation techniques to improve your daily functioning. They also monitor your progress, adjust specialized equipment, and guide your gradual return to work, school, and normal activities while managing your symptoms.
