Shea earned her Diploma in Osteopathic Manual Practice at the National Academy of Osteopathy after completing a Bachelor of Kinesiology at Brock University. As a manual osteopath, her practice is focused on helping clients reach their optimal health through various gentle techniques guided to help the body return to its ideal structural alignment and physiological function. Shea implements a holistic approach to healing by using a combination of myofascial release, craniosacral therapy, visceral mobilization, and general osteopathic manipulative techniques. Shea also has specialized training in pediatric therapy. Osteopathy can be a great tool for newborns to resolve any restrictions or imbalances that may be a result of birth trauma, as well as for toddlers hitting various developmental milestones, and older children shifting through growing pains or hormonal changes.

This appointment is for patients beginning care with Shea for Manual Osteopathy. This 75-minute initial session allows time to understand your history, explore your current concerns, and assess how your system is functioning as a whole. Together, we will create a thoughtful treatment plan tailored to your needs. As a Manual Osteopath, Shea approaches the body as an interconnected system. Assessment and treatment may include osteopathic manual therapy techniques — including myofascial release — to support mobility, integration, and overall function. This extended appointment provides space for both comprehensive assessment and hands-on treatment. It allows us to begin addressing restrictions while establishing a clear direction for ongoing care. Subsequent visits will continue building on the treatment plan that is developed during this initial session.

(For Patients Currently in Care) This appointment is for patients who are actively working within an established Manual Osteopathy treatment plan. If you are new to the clinic, please begin with an Initial Manual Osteopathy Assessment & Treatment so we can take the time to understand your history and create a thoughtful plan together. This 30 minute session is intended as a continuation of Manual Osteopathy care with your provider. These visits allow us to return to the work already in progress — building on prior changes, responding to how your system has adapted, and continuing to support the treatment plan that has been established. Ongoing sessions create space for the body to settle into change at its own pace. They allow us to stay in conversation with your system as it reorganizes, while providing the steady input the fascial and nervous systems require for meaningful integration.

I am really looking forward to working with you and your little one. Little ones come into this world learning how to do all the things — lifting their head, feeding, rolling, crawling, walking, regulating. That is a big job for a small body. When fascial restrictions are present, these transitions can feel harder than they need to. This 1-hour initial session includes both assessment and gentle hands-on Myofascial Release treatment, along with home care education to support you between visits. At Fascial Connections, we intentionally allow enough time to slow down, observe carefully, and listen — both to you and to your child’s system. Their story matters. The timing matters. Your concerns matter. Together, we will explore not only what may be presenting outwardly, but why it may be happening — always working at a pace your child can tolerate and integrate. We are here to support their development with thoughtful, respectful care.
