My name is Sheena Strickland, and I am a Registered Social Worker providing comprehensive, in-person and virtual ADHD assessments for individuals residing in Clarenville and the surrounding area, Bonavista Peninsula, and Burin Peninsula.
I am a registered social worker in good standing with the Newfoundland and Labrador College of Social Workers. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MA) from Yorkville University, a Bachelor of Social Work (BSW) from St. Thomas University, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Studies (BA) from Cape Breton University. With over sixteen years of professional experience, I have had the privilege of working with children, youth, adults, and families as they navigate important life milestones and face significant challenges, offering both guidance and support during these times.
Throughout my career, I have developed a comprehensive understanding of the challenges and barriers that individuals may encounter in their daily lives. My approach is grounded in building strong, therapeutic relationships, with a firm belief that clients are the foremost experts in their own experiences. I am dedicated to ensuring that the unique needs of children, youth, adults, and families throughout Newfoundland and Labrador are addressed, with a particular emphasis on individualized treatment planning.
In addition, I have a strong connection to equine-assisted programming, focusing on the unique therapeutic relationships that can develop between individuals and horses through ground-based exercises and techniques. You can oftentimes find me at the barn with my own horses-laying in a hay bale, grooming, or soaking up the sun as a horse naps on my lap during the summer months!
