As a counsellor, Sherry brings a unique blend of authenticity and deep compassion to the therapeutic space so that you can come exactly as you are and see a glimpse of a different way of thinking. She provides individual in-person and virtual counselling from a relational lens, viewing your challenges through the context of your connections and experiences (e.g., relationships, systemic discrimination). Her 5+ years of psychological research in socioemotional development and behavioural addiction has driven her to be trauma-informed, anti-racist, feminist, and gender affirming as she provides care.
Sherry, informed by her training at Western University, enjoys using various techniques such as storytelling, exploring emotions, and investigating attachment. Sherry is drawn to using modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT), Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). She also describes herself as an “integrative therapist” incorporating a unique mixture of various techniques (not unlike making a soup) for every client to support therapeutic growth.
In her free time, Sherry enjoys knitting, drinking non-caffeinated tea, and watching reality TV. In and out of the counselling room, Sherry is guided by her values of boldness and compassion.
