A gentle, non-invasive massage technique that relieves swelling which occurs when an illness or a medical treatment clogs your lymphatic system.
A gentle, non-invasive massage technique that relieves swelling which occurs when an illness or a medical treatment clogs your lymphatic system. Lymphatic massage involves gently manipulating specific areas of your body to move excess fluid buildup away from your tissues and toward working lymph vessels and lymph nodes so they can get rid of toxins in your body. It was developed by Dr. Emil and Estrid Vodder in the 1930s to help decongest the lymphatic system, reducing swelling, aiding recovery, and promoting immune function. Through the pumping and stretching of the lymphatic vessel, MLD stimulates the opening of the initial vessel, making the watery fluid flow and helping the body recover faster. The gentle rhythmic pumping movements produce rapid results with various effects, such as edema reduction, pain management, scar tissue prevention, fibrosis reduction, infection prevention and immunological benefit.
