(she/her) Sushu began her academic care at Memorial University of Newfoundland in her hometown of St. John’s, NL. She obtained her Bachelors of Science in Biology degree in 1989 and then continued to graduate with a Bachelor’s of Education degree in 1994. Sushu attended Dalhousie University from which she achieved a Bachelors of Science Kinesiology in 1995, a Bachelors of Science Physiotherapy in 1997 and her Masters of Science in Kinesiology in 1999.
Sushu began her physiotherapy career 1997 working in many areas of the hospital system, in- patient orthopedics, cardiorespiratory therapy, geriatric therapy, Alzheimer and dementia. She then travelled her professional journey with a focus in the private practice orthopedic field. She has worked within private physiotherapy clinics both as an employee and a manger of a clinic. She also had her own satellite business called Physio on the Go which provided physiotherapy care in home.
Along with providing physiotherapy services with her own business, she continued to work in the private physiotherapy sector with clients at all level of impaired function and injuries. She assists clients with return to function following motor vehicle accidents, work place injury, sports injuries, pre and post surgical clients and physiotherapy treatment for those with arthritis and functional impairment, Sushu has been registered with the Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists since 1997 and majority of her career she has worked in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia. Her tool box of clinical treatment skills has increased over the years and include but are not limited to acupuncture, functional dry needling,
shockwave therapy, wireless electric stimulation, Scenar therapy, exercise prescription and postural
strengthening.
Sushu’s goal has always been to be part of a collaborative team, that work together to effectively treat her clients and to help them gain their function again in a timely manner. Sushu has always demonstrated that she is a caring treatment provider that believes in assisting the client back to function in a supportive manner that is client specific. Education and listening to her clients are an
integral part of her focus to guide and support her clients to regain independence and function.
Often you will hear her speak to her clients with terms of endearment and encouragement with the words, my luv, my sweetheart and my duckie, all with consent of the client.
