**Sydney Smith, RMT** graduated from the West Coast College of Massage Therapy (WCCMT) in 2013 and has been helping patients move, feel, and function better ever since. She believes that no two people are the same, and that effective treatment starts by understanding the whole person—not just the area that's painful.
Sydney takes a comprehensive, individualized approach to care, recognizing that pain and dysfunction are often influenced by multiple factors, including movement patterns, lifestyle, stress, and overall health. Every treatment is tailored to how your body presents that day, allowing her to adapt pressure, techniques, and treatment goals to best support your recovery and long-term wellness.
Patients often describe Sydney as highly intuitive, frequently commenting that she finds the source of their discomfort before they even mention it. Her thoughtful approach combines clinical assessment with genuine compassion, helping patients feel heard, understood, and cared for throughout their treatment.
Sydney has a special interest in improving functional movement and helping patients maintain an active lifestyle. She has completed additional education in functional movement and is also a certified yoga teacher, bringing a deeper understanding of mobility, stability, posture, and body awareness into her treatments. She also has experience supporting patients recovering from breast surgery and incorporates gentle techniques to help improve mobility, reduce discomfort, and support lymphatic health when appropriate.
Whether you're recovering from an injury, managing chronic pain, dealing with everyday muscle tension, or simply looking to move and feel your best, Sydney is committed to creating a treatment plan that is personalized, effective, and focused on your individual goals.
Outside the clinic, Sydney enjoys spending time in nature, hiking, practicing yoga, dancing, and exploring the outdoors with her dog, Khloe.

This treatment mainly utilizes the modality of Proprioceptive-Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR), but can also include the modalities of NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT) and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). After a thorough history intake, movement assessments and gentle muscle tests will be used to locate inhibition within the nervous system. Once dysfunctions have been located, specific neurological stimuli will be put into the body's proprioceptors and a reflex will be elicited to calm the nervous system, restoring function and eliminating pain. Corrective exercises and myofascial release techniques may be used to further reduce tension and pain.
