Physiotherapy InMotion is pleased to welcome Tammy Kwan to its physiotherapy team.
Tammy graduated from the University of Alberta in 1996. She is continually learning through education courses to become a better therapist.
She has attained certifications for spinal manipulations (FCAMPT- Part B Manual Therapist), IMS and Functional Dry Needling (Dry Needling), K-Taping, GLA:D, and Acupuncture for physiotherapy. She is currently enrolled in the Diagnositic Imaging course at U of A as well. Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) have completed extensive post-graduate education and have attained internationally recognized qualifications in hands-on manipulative therapy.
This designation is regarded as the highest level of manual therapy training that an orthopaedic physiotherapist can obtain. The training is focused on developing very advanced clinical reasoning skills and also gives the ability to safely and effectively perform peripheral and spinal manipulation to patients that require this type of treatment approach. Approximately 1% of the physiotherapy population has achieved this level of training and expertise.
Tammy has been a member at the Winter Club since 2005. She enjoys playing squash, badminton, golf, pickleball and the piano. She would love to get any tips on her game (all of them)!
