Tara is a Registered Physiotherapist with post graduate training in Women’s Pelvic Health, Gunn IMS, Acupuncture, Graston Technique, Manual Therapy and Pain Science. Tara graduated with a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2009 from the University of British Columbia. Prior to this, Tara completed a Bachelor of Kinesiology with a minor in contemporary dance from the University of Calgary/University of Victoria.
Tara is particularly passionate about helping people participate in the activities they love without pain or injury. In addition to her training as a physiotherapist and kinesiologist, Tara has worked as a strength trainer, fitness instructor, dance instructor and soccer coach. She is also an avid participant in many activities including: running, cross-country skiing, crossfit, stand up paddling, pilates, dance and yoga.
Tara has completed a 200 hr Mocean Yoga Teacher Training and enjoys expanding her offering through therapeutic yoga classes and 1:1 therapeutic yoga privates.
Tara loves incorporating her vast inventory of movement experience into her rehabilitation programs. Her training in women’s pelvic health allows her the pleasure of assisting women in participating in enjoyable and meaningful activities. Her background in Gunn IMS, soft tissue techniques and pain science provides her with additional tools for providing effective pain relief and restoration of function of all areas of the body. She looks at the body as a whole and will look at the interconnections of your injuries.

Vestibular rehabilitation is a specialized physiotherapy program. An exercise based approach to relieve the symptoms and discomfort of vestibular disorders. Dizziness, unsteadiness and balance problems can all be treated through a gentle exercise program tailor to meet the specific individual needs. Vestibular disorders are common and can affect people of all ages. Most often caused by: Head trauma (motor vehicle accidents, falls, sports injuries) Inner ear infections Illness or disease Aging Certain medications Concussion Other symptoms may include: A spinning sensation (frequently with changes in head positions) Difficulty reading or concentrating (including working on a computer) Poor balance Motion sensitivity (quicker movements provoke dizziness) Nausea Headaches Sensitivity to bright lights and noises Decreased tolerance to crowds Blurring of vision with head movements Difficulty watching TV or movies
