Taylor is a graduate of the University of Toronto’s Master of Science in Physical Therapy program. Prior to this, she obtained a Bachelor of Science in Human Kinetics and a Master of Science in Biomechanics from the University of Guelph. Her Master’s research focused on age-related muscle loss, known as sarcopenia, and how it contributes to falls risk in older adults. This experience has inspired Taylor to advocate for seniors’ health and work to decrease falls risk in this population. Taylor runs our healthy aging program at Prospect Physiotherapy.
Taylor is also proud to be the Physiotherapist for the Canadian Equestrian Team where she works with both able-bodied and para-equestrian athletes in various disciplines. Her involvement with Equestrian Canada allows her to travel with the team and help the riders prepare for the World Equestrian Games and the Olympic/Paralympic Games. Taylor understands the dedication required by athletes and the importance of physiotherapy to assist in attaining peak performance levels. She also sits as a member on the National Classification Advisory Group where she works to further promote and develop para-sport and its athletes.
While Taylor works with all ages and abilities, she has a special interest in working with equestrians, older adults, and individuals dealing with recurrent injuries due to biomechanical issues. Additionally, she has a strong passion for working with youth who have scoliosis after undergoing surgery herself as a teen. She advocates for conservative management through physiotherapy prior to considering surgical intervention.
Outside of work, Taylor enjoys spending quality time with her husband, one-year-old daughter, and their Dalmatian.
