Teresa Iwerima earned her Bachelor of Medical Rehabilitation in Physiotherapy from the University of Nigeria in 1998. She worked her way up to chief Physiotherapist at the Federal Medical Center in Keffi, Nigeria till she came to Canada in 2017. She has worked in private practice in various clinics in the lower mainland. She continues to further her education by taking courses such as the MDT series offered by the Mackenzie Institute and Soft tissue techniques offered by the International Olympic Committee.

Teresa specializes in IMS, Scoliosis treatment and GLAAD program. Her treatment approach involves a combination of manual therapy and exercise prescription. She enjoys travelling and spending quality time with her four children.

This is a specialized treatment involving internal and external assessment of the pelvic floor muscles. These muscles are located between the hip bones and the sacrum, and they serve as a bowl to support the pelvic organs which are the bladder, colon and uterus. Female Pelvic Health Female bodies go through a number of changes through life whether it involves preparing for pregnancy and delivery to menopause. We are here to help you gain a better understanding and connection to your body. During your session, you will learn and understand the role of the pelvic floor muscles and deep abdominals. Wondering what to expect in a women’s pelvic health appointment? The initial assessment will be tailored to your needs with a comprehensive history taking of your bladder and bowel habits/function, sexual health, obstetric history, and pelvic floor/core awareness. If you are comfortable and we deem it suitable, an internal vaginal and/or rectal exam may be performed to help assess the functioning of your pelvic floor.
