Tessa is a Manual Osteopathic Practitioner and a member of the Ontario Osteopathic Association. She graduated from the Canadian Academy of Osteopathy in 2021. Prior to that she obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Life Science, with a Minor in Psychology from McMaster University, where she graduated with Honors in 2016. She recently completed additional studies working within the paediatric and infant population and obtained her specialization in Infant Osteopathy in 2023.
Growing up, Tessa was passionate about athletics - she played competitive soccer for the Flamborough region for 8 years and played for the McMaster Varsity Rugby team while completing her undergraduate degree. Her passion for sports and fitness led her to seek an education studying the human body and how to maintain health and wellness at a level that allows the body to thrive.
In recent years, after giving birth to her own 2 children and seeing firsthand the significant impact pregnancy and childbirth can have on both maternal and infant bodies, Tessa has taken a special interest in working with women and their infants through pregnancy and post-partum to help them maintain optimal health as they navigate this major life change. By addressing any structural misalignment that occurs along the pathway of pregnancy and childbirth and working with both mom and baby, Tessa is able to help treat pregnancy-related aches and pains and ensure proper pelvic alignment for optimal delivery, and aid in postpartum care. She is also able to help with a range of postpartum concerns such as lactation and latching, infant tongue ties, infant colic and digestive problems, infant sleep problems and many other concerns that may arise along the journey of motherhood.
Tessa’s treatments focus on bringing the body into structural alignment so that all parts can work together optimally. Her treatments are patient--centred and individually customized to each patient's unique needs. Regardless of the condition that brings you in, Tessa works with the whole body to restore its structural integrity and remove restrictions to health so that the body is able to self-heal and sustain health.
