Tia grew up in Brandon, Manitoba. She played basketball at the University of Winnipeg before transferring to Minot State University to pursue Speech-Language Pathology. She graduated from Minot State with a Bachelor of Science in Communication Disorders in May 2015, and later obtained her Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology from the University of North Dakota in May 2017. In September 2017, she began working full-time with a school division in Winnipeg supporting children aged 5-21. In the last year, Tia has also become very interested in supporting young children and their communication development. Tia is passionate about several areas of Communication Disorders, but she especially enjoys supporting speech and language development for children with complex needs through play-based activities. Learning to communicate can be so much fun! In her spare time, Tia enjoys playing and watching sports, travelling to new places, and spending time outside with her dog.
