Tim is originally from Mississauga, Ontario and has lived in Calgary since 2001. He is a proud Queen’s University Alumnus, graduating with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy in 1998. Since graduating, Tim has acquired a Certificate in Gunn Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS), a Certificate in Acupuncture with the Acupuncture Foundation of Canada, and was admitted as a Fellow in the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapists (FCAMPT) with an Advanced Diploma in Manual and Manipulative Physiotherapy.
Outside of the clinic, Tim worked as a selected physiotherapist for the Canadian Men’s Rugby Team for five years, helping the team with their numerous injuries on rugby tours around the world. He also worked as the Team Physiotherapist with several other provincial and national teams at World Cup and World Championship competitions.
In addition to his experience with sports injuries, Tim has a special interest in neck and low back pain. He worked at the Advanced Spinal Care Centre for six years, collaborating with the highest caliber of physiotherapists, radiologists and physicians specializing in spinal care. Tim is authorized by the Physiotherapy Alberta College to refer patients for diagnostic imaging tests and perform spinal manipulation, if required.
**What's your treatment philosophy?**
Over his many years of clinical practice, Tim has found that getting the most accurate diagnosis of an injury is vital for treatment success. Along with providing focused and effective treatment, he also teaches his clients how to move, exercise, and live in the best way to encourage healing of their injury.
**What are you interested in outside of work?**
Tim loves to stay active by biking or playing tennis in the summer, or cross country/downhill skiing in the winter. Tim is part of a Calgary leadership group, and enjoys spending time with his family and friends.
**What are your areas of expertise and interest?**
Although Tim started his career focusing on sports injuries and traveling with various sports teams, he has developed his skills and interests towards neck and back conditions.
**How do you take care of your body/prevent injuries/etc.?**
In order to keep working in a physical job such as physiotherapy, Tim finds it necessary to get to the gym 2 to 3 times a week to maintain strength and stability. He a also is fortunate to have so many great physiotherapists around him to help “rescue” him when he is in pain.
