Group Balance, Breathe, Stretch (BBS002)
This is a group course of up to 10 individuals. This course teaches you to increase and decrease your heart rate through interval training (speeding up and slowing down movements). Your lung function improves through breathing exercises and your flexibility improves through stretching. In order to be healthy, we need to move. Also, breathing properly is very important for health and well-being. Most people do not breathe properly, instead they breathe from the chest upward robbing themselves of oxygen. In BBS students are taught to breathe from the stomach, to breathe deeply and slowly increasing relaxation, lowering blood pressure and helping improve sleep. BBS also incorporates stretching arms and legs and exercises to move all of the joints from your head to your toes. I also work on your reflexes through hand-eye coordination exercises. My classes work on balance, so very important for people of all ages, and especially for Seniors. These exercises use weight shifting derived from my Tai Chi training for over 25 years. BBS also works on posture since posture plays so heavily into balance.
