A Pessary may be warranted in the following situations:
- Pelvic Organ Prolapse- with symptoms like heaviness, pressure, bulging, difficulty voiding bladder/fully emptying, mental/emotional bother
- Stress Urinary Incontinence
- For those who elect not to undergo surgery
-For those who are not surgical candidates (Due to co-morbidities or age)
- For those awaiting surgery
-For those considering surgery but who are not yet done childbearing
-To rule out occult incontinence pre pelvic surgery
During your appointment you will undergo through a thorough assessment for which pessary type best suits you and size of the pessary. Your physiotherapist will guide you about the care of the pessary. You will need to follow up with your Physiotherapist at recommended intervals.
Charge for this appointment of $280 only includes assessment. You will be charged for pessary separately for $100.
