The goal of acupressure is to encourage the movement of qi ("life energy") through the 14 channels (meridians) inside the body. Acupressure can be used to reduce tension, or to target specific pain conditions. Various massage techniques are applied to specific points along the meridian releasing endorphins and increasing blood circulation to the area.

Most of the appointment is spent mapping out what’s going on in your body and choosing points, then resting with fine needles in place for a stretch — sometimes with heat, cups or electrical stimulation — and you leave with a sense of what was treated and whether more sessions make sense.
