Myofascial Dynamic Cupping
Cupping therapy is a therapeutic technique that utilizes a vacuum (suction) force created beneath a small vessel (cup) applied onto the skin's surface. This treatment involves included moving the cups (dynamic) while they are actively suctioning the upper layers of tissue. This approach helps decompress layers of skin & other tissue, stimulate metabolic activity, improving immune function, and stabilize blood biochemistry. As blood is suctioned toward the surface, capillaries leave red or purple marks (petechiae) under the skin's surface which may intensify within the 36hrs following treatment before disappearing within 2 weeks. The marks are in the shape of the cup (circular), do NOT hurt & do NOT indicate muscle injury.
Light pink or red: Fades within a few hours to an hour
Red: Fades after a couple of days
Red with dark spots: Fades in 3 days to a week
Deep red/purple: Fades in up to two weeks
