Penthrox® is an inhaled analgesic used to help manage temporary pain and discomfort during certain medical and aesthetic procedures. It contains methoxyflurane and is self-administered through a handheld inhaler under medical supervision.
Penthrox® may be recommended during procedures where additional pain management or anxiety reduction may improve patient comfort.

- Drowsiness

- Headache
- Lightheadedness
- Fatigue
- Cough or throat irritation
- Temporary changes in coordination or alertness
- Allergic reaction (rare)
Patients may experience varying levels of sedation or relaxation.
Contraindications:
- Are pregnant or breastfeeding without medical clearance
- Have kidney disease or impaired kidney function
- Have severe liver disease
- Have a history of malignant hyperthermia
- Have significant respiratory compromise
- Have hypersensitivity to methoxyflurane or inhaled anesthetics
- Are under the influence of alcohol or recreational substances
