Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is a specialized manual therapy technique designed to encourage healthy lymphatic circulation and assist with the movement of excess superficial fluid. While well known for its body-contouring effects, this treatment can also be incorporated into clinical care to help manage temporary swelling and fluid retention associated with post-surgical recovery (with medical clearance), injury, inflammation, reduced mobility, hormonal changes, prolonged travel, and certain medications that contribute to fluid retention.
Using precise, rhythmic techniques, treatment is tailored to each individual's needs and may help reduce puffiness, improve comfort, promote a feeling of lightness, and enhance body contours by addressing excess fluid, not fat.
As a Registered Massage Therapist, Sabrina's approach is assessment-based and integrates sound clinical reasoning to determine whether Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage is appropriate for your presentation. While many clients notice immediate changes in swelling and contour, results vary depending on the underlying cause of the fluid retention. This treatment is intended to support healthy lymphatic function and is NOT a weight-loss or fat-reduction treatment.
