Majo has mastered two systems of assisted stretching techniques: 1. Fascia Stretch Therapy® (FST) from Stretch To Win, and 2. Active Isolated Stretching: The Mattes Method (AIS).
During these sessions, you must wear your sports clothes, such as short shorts, t-shirt, tank top or sports bra. These therapeutic modalities are excellent for injury prevention, especially optimizing joint mobility and stability. They also accelerate the healing process after injuries, reduce chronic pain, are an excellent complement to sports preparation and recovery, as well as physical rehabilitation following orthopedic or other operations, always according to the recommendations of your medical team.
FST uses an assisted Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation technique requiring a succession of short submaximal contractions, followed by periods of muscle relaxation of the same muscles. The technique is based on the phenomenon of forced relaxation, following muscular stimulation or contraction: a physiological response prevents the muscle from being stimulated or contracting as before, immediately after a muscular contraction. This forced interval of muscle relaxation is used here to increase the stretching response for better gain in joint range of motion.
Otherwise, AIS uses assisted stretching techniques which require repeated contractions of the antagonist muscle(s) (those in opposition to the muscles to be stretched), while stretching the agonist muscles to their full range of motion. The Reciprocal Inhibition Reflex then forces the agonist muscles (to stretch) to automatically relax, while their antagonist muscles contract. It is then that the state of relaxation caused to the agonist muscles, by the contraction of their antagonist muscles, is exploited here to improve their flexibility.
The goal of each visit will be discussed for Majo to best adapt her approach to meet your needs of the day.
For your understanding, “Fascia” is a three-dimensional system of fibrous tissue that encompasses and connects muscles, bones, joints, nerves, organs, in addition to blood and lymphatic vessels. Physically, it resembles a large, flexible, malleable fibrous web, bathed in a gelatinous-like substance, which fills the void between all other bodily structures. When healthy, this dynamic and communicative tissue moves with suppleness and fluidity, and reacts to tensions, pressures and compressions, thus continually adapting its shape and density to allow the movements of the human body. In response to multiple injuries often linked to accidents, repetitive movements, poor posture, aging, illness, stress and anxiety, several connective soft tissue responses can arise and make our lives difficult, such as rigid and painful scarring, myofascial adhesions, muscle knots and stiffness, and inflamed tendons. These changes can limit the body's freedom of movement and thus hinder its biomechanical efficiency, limiting physical performance in everyday life and in sports, in addition to causing unwanted chronic pain.

En quoi ça consiste
Most of the appointment is spent figuring out what your body can and can’t do — talking through the pattern of the problem, then checking movement, strength, balance and specific tests — with some hands-on treatment or exercise coaching and a plan to take away.
Habituellement réservé pour
Pain that keeps coming back
An injury that changed how you move
Wanting a clearer picture and plan
