Our physiotherapists have advanced training in bike fitting, are avid (some competitive) cyclists, and will do whatever it takes to find the fit that will enhance performance, increase comfort and prevent overuse injuries.
Our Approach:
Your therapist will:
• Conduct a brief medical/riding history: Your physio will learn about your goals, current level of cycling, and any issues you’re experiencing on the bike.
• Perform a musculoskeletal exam: Targeting trouble regions with cycling, specifically looking for range of motion or strength deficiencies that may be limiting optimal positioning.
• Assess your existing on-bike ergonomics: Identify pain sources.
• Observe your postural and pedaling techniques: From front, back, and sides.
From the on-bike assessment, your physiotherapist will:
• Adjust cleats, saddle, handlebars, and stem for optimal positioning.
• Recommend exercises and stretches to perform off the bike, if needed.
• Provide an individualized bike fit report: Includes measurements and modifications made, and any suggestions from the bike fit.
• If any adjustments are recommended that are not possible in the clinic, your physio will provide recommendations on where/how to proceed with this.
