Jolie completed both her Masters of Physical Therapy and Bachelors of Kinesiology in Health Science at UBC. Growing up competing in various sports including volleyball, basketball, track and field, swimming, and dragonboat, she was introduced to physiotherapy through her own injuries, which sparked an interest in rehabilitation. While at UBC, Jolie worked as a student athletic trainer for the UBC Men’s Volleyball Team, through which she was granted the opportunity to assist on the rehabilitation team for the Women’s National Volleyball Team and Men’s Youth National Volleyball Team.
Jolie is passionate about empowering people through movement. She enjoys working with clients of all ages and backgrounds to create treatment plans that assist their rehabilitation journey to achieve optimal function and performance. To further her clinical expertise, Jolie has been pursuing continuing education, having taken several courses in the Advanced Integrated Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy Program, as well as running assessments and bike fitting. She has a special interest in working with sports rehabilitation. She believes movement is medicine, which is a keystone to her practice. Jolie’s treatment approach includes exercise prescription, manual therapy, IMS, blood flow restriction, taping, and patient education, with the aim of helping individuals achieve their goals, whether they are recovering from injury or looking to optimize performance.

Our physiotherapists have advanced training in bike fitting, are avid (some competitive) cyclists, and will do whatever it takes to find the fit that will enhance performance, increase comfort and prevent overuse injuries. Our Approach: Your therapist will: • Conduct a brief medical/riding history: Your physio will learn about your goals, current level of cycling, and any issues you’re experiencing on the bike. • Perform a musculoskeletal exam: Targeting trouble regions with cycling, specifically looking for range of motion or strength deficiencies that may be limiting optimal positioning. • Assess your existing on-bike ergonomics: Identify pain sources. • Observe your postural and pedaling techniques: From front, back, and sides. From the on-bike assessment, your physiotherapist will: • Adjust cleats, saddle, handlebars, and stem for optimal positioning. • Recommend exercises and stretches to perform off the bike, if needed. • Provide an individualized bike fit report: Includes measurements and modifications made, and any suggestions from the bike fit. • If any adjustments are recommended that are not possible in the clinic, your physio will provide recommendations on where/how to proceed with this.
