Refugee Physiotherapy Initial Assessment is a tailored evaluation for individuals who are refugees that have valid coverage through The Interim Federal Health Program Certificate (IFHC). The initial visit focus's on the patients physical health needs, trauma history, and integration into the healthcare system. Refugees often experience unique challenges due to physical and psychological trauma, displacement, and stress, which can significantly affect their well-being. The goal of the initial assessment is to understand the patient’s physical condition, identify any urgent health needs, and develop a treatment plan that is culturally sensitive, trauma-informed, and accessible.

En quoi ça consiste
Most of this first physiotherapy visit is spent figuring out what’s driving the problem — history, movement, strength and hands-on testing — then some treatment if there’s time, and you leave with a clearer picture and a plan for what comes next.
