Craniosacral therapy is a gentle, hands on approach that supports your baby’s nervous system and helps release tension patterns in the body. Babies can hold tension from pregnancy, birth positioning, fast or long labours, assisted deliveries, or even everyday strain. That tension can sometimes show up as feeding challenges, preference for one side, unsettled sleep, reflux symptoms, or general fussiness.
During a session, your baby remains fully clothed and either in your arms or on the treatment table beside or on you. The touch is very light and slow. We follow your baby’s cues at all times.
Sometimes, as tension begins to release, babies will cry. Crying is how babies communicate. It does not automatically mean something is wrong. Often, what they are experiencing is a new stretch or space in their body that feels unfamiliar. That said, we never push through distress. If your baby needs a pause, to nurse, to be held closer, or to stop altogether, we honour that. Your comfort matters just as much as theirs.
After a session, some babies are extra sleepy. Others may be slightly more fussy for about 24 hours as their system integrates the changes. This is typically short lived.
The goal is not to “fix” your baby. It is to support their body in finding ease, comfort, and better function in a gentle and respectful way.
Initial Intake Assessment is approximately 1hr but we play it by ear on what baby can handle. Follow-Up's are up to 40 mins
