The warmth of the heated basalt stones penetrates deeply into the muscle tissue, and the stones’ gentle weight provides a calming effect on the nervous system. The therapist also uses the stones in a more dynamic way to help calm down any areas that feel particularly tense. Hot Stone Massage is incredibly therapeutic, and feels positively luxurious.
Your appointment time begins with an intake interview, in which we talk about your reasons for seeking hot stone massage. Together we'll come up with a treatment plan to address any particular issues presented in the intake. If appropriate, your appointment also includes a post-massage reassessment and assignment of homecare, such as stretches or hydrotherapy.
