The two modalities create a powerful, synergistic physiological response known as a vascular pump:
Step 1: The Laser ("Fire"): Applying the 1064 nm Class 4 laser first floods the tissue with light energy. It creates deep, soothing heat, causes massive vasodilation (widening of blood vessels), brings in fresh oxygenated blood, and stimulates cellular ATP production.
Step 2: The Cryo ("Ice"): Immediately following the 10-minute laser session, with 1 to 3 minutes of the LONGEST CO2 thermal shock creates a dramatic, sudden temperature drop. This causes rapid vasoconstriction, forcefully flushing out the localized edema, metabolic waste, and inflammatory markers that the laser just stirred up, while completely gating any residual pain.
