Allison is a Registered Therapeutic Counsellor with a background in Transpersonal Counselling. Her approach is relational, meaning the therapeutic connection itself becomes an important part of the healing process. She also integrates somatic experience, helping clients explore what is happening in the body as another pathway to understanding their experiences and emotions.
Allison believes that clients bring their own stories, strengths, and wisdom to therapy. Her role is to provide support, perspective, and a steady space to explore challenges, gain insight, and move forward with greater clarity. Together, clients can explore long standing patterns, deepen self-awareness, and develop practical tools to feel more grounded, connected, and resilient.
Her work focuses on helping individuals reconnect with parts of themselves that may have been overlooked or set aside. Whether someone is navigating anxiety, relationship challenges, family stress, life transitions, or a general sense of feeling stuck, Allison's goal is to help clients feel more capable, empowered, and aligned with who they are.
Clients often appreciate Allison's steady, straightforward, and compassionate presence. She is committed to creating a supportive environment where individuals feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported throughout their journey.

My counselling with children focuses on the therapeutic relationship, using play-based approaches to help children explore their emotions, understand them better and ultimately learn to self-regulate and manage strong emotions. Family life is complicated and complex and can sometimes feel as if you are on a roller coaster with no end in sight. Parenting is one of the toughest jobs that any of us take on and it is often not acknowledged as such. There is pressure to be a “perfect parent,” which can lead to feelings of guilt and inadequacy for parents and caregivers when things are not going well. There are multiple demands placed on parents and children and the work of parenting is often valued less than it should be. The stresses of work-life and careers, societal pressure, extended family pressure, the high cost of living can all combine and create stressful situations and children respond to the stress in their family. My work with parents and caregivers, centres around providing a safe place to explore feelings of guilt, anger, hurt and to understand potentially negative patterns that may be repeated from our own childhoods. Parents can expect to have their emotions validated and concerns heard as they explore ways to find new and more positive ways to connect with their child and other family members and an approach that supports understanding ourselves and our own reactions and triggers and provides ways to develop more mindful approaches to parenting and family life.

I support clients in working toward their chosen goals and tailor a therapeutic approach for each client, with a foundation in strength-based and cognitive behavioural approaches, and mindfulness. At different stages of our lives, we need support to navigate change and manage emotional needs such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, understanding emotions and how to move through relationships and life stages. My approach is to support each client in identifying how they would like to adapt, find a more peaceful way of being with themselves and reframe their experiences. Through a person-entered approach, we explore ways to feel more in control of your life and emotions find ways to a more balanced way of being in the world.
