Dr. Erica Nikiforuk is a licensed Naturopathic Doctor and Registered Acupuncturist committed to exceptional patient care. Having devoted her 15 years in practice to treating endocrine and reproductive conditions, Dr. Erica is well-versed in addressing hormone imbalances, as well as supporting fertility and pregnancy. She has made it her mission to change the health care experience of women and couples who are trying to conceive, and to empower women on their journey through motherhood.
During the preconception period, she works with both partners to address any fertility challenges – including nutritional deficiencies, hormone conditions, egg quality, or male factor infertility. As well as supporting couples who are trying naturally, Dr. Erica has significant experience providing integrative care for couples undergoing IUI or IVF. She is dedicated to helping couples feel more supported throughout their journey to conceive healthy babies, and on improving the health of future generations.
In pregnancy, Dr. Erica provides detailed nutritional management and addresses common concerns such as fatigue, nausea, mood and blood sugar imbalances. She works with her pregnant patients to prepare for labour and promote breast milk supply. She supports new mamas during the post-partum years to help them regain their vitality and get their hormones back in check.
In addition to fertility and pregnancy, Dr. Erica routinely treats hormone concerns, such as PCOS, thyroid, acne, hair loss, irregular or painful cycles, insulin resistance and weight loss support.
With an avid interest in research, Dr. Erica has published in major scientific and naturopathic medical journals, and has been interviewed in several well-known magazines. She has authored peer-reviewed Continuing Education programs, and has lectured to other health care providers and the public on the benefits of Naturopathic Medicine. She is a member in good standing with the College of Naturopaths of Ontario (CONO) as well as the College of Traditional Chinese Medicine Practitioners and Acupuncturists of Ontario (CTCMPAO).

Please verify that you are booking at your desired clinic location (Toronto vs. Newmarket). ** This is a shorter appointment intended for patients who have already had one ultrasound treatment at Oona before.** Ultrasound therapy for the treatment of a blocked duct. Please note this is usually caused by an improper latch which results in baby not draining the breast properly. We also recommend an assessment by one of our lactation consultants. We recommend bringing your baby with you to this appointment, as we recommend nursing immediately after the treatment, in an effort to fully drain the duct. Very wee ones will likely be fine to stay in the room with you during the treatment.

Your practitioner will sit down with you and go over your health history as well as what is bringing you in to see us. You will then get in a semi-reclined position on the treatment table and begin the Moxa treatment while we show you how to perform the treatment yourself at home. Moxa sticks are available for purchase after your appointment.
