Dr. Mikyung Kim

Before her career as an ND, Dr. Mikyung Kim was a pharmacist, and operated her own pharmacy for over 22 years in Korea. She always asked herself how best she could serve her patients. In order to achieve this answer, she continuously educated herself and explored different fields of study. She studied Asian Medicine and she was licensed as an Asian medicine pharmacist in Korea adding to her pharmacist license. She had her master’s degree with Naturopathic rehabilitation, and she did her PhD in Medical Nutrition. She understood that some illnesses were not just from the physical body, but also, they were from mental stress. This understanding led her to study and to get certified Reiki, Avatar, and NLP practitioner courses. She has been trying to find root causes of patients’ illness from all levels, such as medical, nutritional, and mental to support her patients for almost 30 years since she became a pharmacist in 1990.

One of her specialties is Iridology. Since she was introduced to Iridology in 1999, she has studied and analyzed more than 1000 peoples; iris signs. Studying Iridology brought her to a deeper understanding of the mind-body connection, and that illnesses should be treated with regards to the whole person instead of the sum of symptoms.

She believes the best treatment is prevention. As such, she is eager to help patients become aware of the root causes of their condition so they can live optimally. Her strong nutrition and pharmacology backgrounds lay the foundation for how she helps patients with chronic diseases and those on long-term or multiple medications. In her practice, her areas of focus are women’s health, stress-tension management, pain management, chronic skin issues, digestive disorders, and patients on multiple medications. She has treated patients with PCOS, Menopause, Thyroid issues, Diabetes, Hypertension, Acne, Rosacea, IBS (irritable bowel syndrome), Anxiety, Depression and so on.

Her main modalities for treating patients are nutritional support including optimal diet plans, botanical medicine, acupuncture, homeopathic medicine, TCM formulas, and mind-body technique.
