Dr. Taron grew up in Muskoka, Ontario at a popular family-owned resort on Lake Rosseau. She spent the majority of her childhood playing sports, competing in various equestrian events and helping out at the barn.
She began her studies in London at The University of Western Ontario, where she earned an Honours Specialization Degree in Kinesiology in 2009. Dr. Taron then started her chiropractic career at the Canadian Memorial Chiropractic College and graduated Magna Cum Laude with Clinic Honours in 2014.
In 2022, Dr. Taron graduated from the McMaster University Neurofunctional Acupuncture program. In addition to Neurofunctional Acupuncture, Dr. Taron’s evidence-based treatments include: diversified and drop-piece chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilizations, myofascial release techniques, therapeutic cupping, kinesiology taping, nutritional/lifestyle recommendations, rehabilitative exercise prescription and shockwave therapy.
Dr. Taron has also completed over 220 hours of study in Animal Chiropractic and graduated from the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre in 2014. Since then, she has completed continuing education seminars in Advanced Canine Chiropractic Techniques (2017), Equine/Canine Kinesiology Taping Certification (2017) and Small Animal Neuro-Anatomical Acupuncture training at the Veterinary Chiropractic Learning Centre (2024).
Her extensive equestrian background and experience providing sideline treatments at canine agility trials over the years have given her a keen eye for gait analysis and lameness. She has a special interest in assessing and treating unresolved lameness issues in dogs, helping senior dogs age gracefully and maintain mobility, as well as complex canine neurological cases.
When not treating patients at the office or out adjusting horses through her mobile equine practice (Stillwater Animal Chiropractic), Dr. Taron can be found hiking/running with her Australian Shepherd "Briggs", riding her horse "Weldon", or out on the golf course with her husband, Matt.

Neurofunctional Acupuncture is a modern approach to the traditional Chinese method of acupuncture. In this model, acupuncture needles are inserted at specific points along a nerve path and/or into tight/tender musculature and are then stimulated with the use of gentle electricity at low frequency. This stimulates the nervous system in a way that relieves pain, elevates mood and improves blood flow to help heal peripheral tissues. The initial canine examination involves a thorough health history of the dog and in-depth analysis of any mobility issues, behavioural changes or performance problems that prompted the appointment. Previous diagnostic tests and/or any imaging from their veterinarian is also reviewed. Physical examination involves: postural and gait analysis, range of motion testing, as well as static and dynamic motion palpation of the spine and extremities. Once an appropriate diagnosis and a plan of management has been discussed a treatment plan can begin. Treatment often includes corrective chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilization(s), myofascial release, passive range of motion and stretching, canine-specific kinesiology taping, rehabilitative exercise prescription, and therapeutic laser therapy/photobiomodulation if indicated (additional fee).
Follow-up treatments begin with a gait/postural analysis and a review of any changes to the dog’s health, mobility and behavioural status since the previous visit. Manual therapy often includes chiropractic adjustments, joint mobilization(s), myofascial release, passive range of motion and stretching, canine-specific kinesiology taping, rehabilitative exercise prescription, and therapeutic laser therapy/photobiomodulation if indicated (additional fee).
