Erica Cherry

For the past 5 years, Erica has been heavily involved with athletics within the community working as an Athletic Trainer and Kinesiologist to provide first contact support for injury management, first aid, and rehabilitation. While her roots began at St. Mary’s University in 2020 working with the Varsity Football team, Erica has since taken her skills to the community, building relationships and experience with Sports Physiotherapists and Certified Athletic Therapists across Canada. Erica has worked alongside the Sports Physiotherapists at Accel Physiotherapy to provide athletic coverage at several events such as the School Sport Nova Scotia Track & Field Regional and Provincial meets, the 2023 Hockey Nova Scotia Male High-Performance Camp, and the 2024 Hockey Nova Scotia Ice Jam Tournament. In addition to this, Erica worked alongside Physiotherapists and Certified Athletic Therapists from across Canada as a part of the medical team for the 2023 North American Indigenous Games.

Erica is currently in her fourth season working as the Athletic Trainer for the U16 AAA Basin Armada hockey team and recently finished an Athletic Therapy internship with the Halifax's Professional Basketball team, the Halifax Hoopers. In the summer, you can find Erica on the football field with the Halifax Heat, Maritime Football League team, providing athletes with taping, assessments, and rehabilitation.

Erica grew up playing a variety of sports and has always had an interest in the prevention and care of injuries as well as all aspects of health and wellness. Erica brings a positive attitude to our clinic environment and assists us with client intake, bookkeeping, maintaining a social media presence, and ensuring the cleanliness of all areas in the clinic.
