I am a registered acupuncturist in good standing with the College of Complementary Health Professionals of British Columbia (CCHPBC) and a summa cum laude graduate of Pacific Rim College. I received my Level 2 Reiki Practitioner certificate from Sister Eileen Curteis at Queenswood Holistic Healing and Spirituality Society in 2007. I also hold a B.Sc. in Linguistics and Psychology from the University of Victoria.
My personal journey into alternative medicine began over 20 years ago. As a competitive softball player I often found myself travelling for various games and tournaments. It was after one such event I became very ill. After months of investigation I was finally diagnosed with a rare parasite and was treated with a strong medication. Little did I know this was going to have a profound effect on my overall health for years to come.
After this treatment which was meant to "cure" me, everything started to get worse. While the medication had killed my parasite, it had also destroyed my immune system, my digestive system, and my endocrine system. I was then left on my own to find a way to fix the cure. This is when I discovered acupuncture.
Acupuncture gave me my life back and after regular treatments I finally started to feel like myself again. I was amazed at the difference that a few needles could make on my health. And just like that I was hooked!

For ages 12 and under, this treatment can include needles, acupressure, gua sha and/or moxa. Treatments run 30-45 minutes. It is a child-led treatment, so we will treat within their comfort level.
For returning patients who feel they could use a little extra time on the table. This appointment will include a brief assessment of your current health, a discussion of how your treatments are progressing, and a full acupuncture treatment.
For new patients, this appointment will include a thorough intake and a full treatment (acupuncture, cupping, and/or gua sha as discussed during intake).
For returning patients, I offer the following 'non-needle' treatments: cupping, moxibustion, gua sha (dermal scraping), ear seeds, or reiki. Please indicate which treatment you are selecting in the 'Reason for your visit' section so I can ensure everything is ready for you upon your arrival! (Please note: Reiki treatments are not considered within the scope of practice of a Registered Acupuncturist and will therefore be not be billed as an acupuncture treatment. If you are claiming your treatments under a health insurance plan you will need to determine if reiki is a claimable service under your specific policy coverage.)
