Kya completed her Athletic therapy designation in 2009, followed by a Masters in Physiotherapy in 2015.
At Physica, she brings extensive experience in pelvic floor assessment and treatment.
She also has a keen interest in the foot, and how it relates to key patterns of movement during walking and running.

The goal of this assessment is to analyze your walking using high end force plates that can understand the dynamics of the walking cycle. Once we get this visual interpretation of data, we will work with you to develop a plan to correct these dysfunctions. We will then carry out a further musculoskeletal assessment to study what is happening in the limb.

This appointment is a follow-up post assessment. It involves treatment techniques that could include manual therapy, soft tissue work together with progressive exercises for the injury being treated. Custom orthotics or off the shelf insoles, together with shoe analysis can also be undertaken during this session.

TMJ (Temporomandibular) joint disorders are conditions that affect the jaw and surrounding areas. During the initial assessment, the physiotherapy will perform a thorough history, followed by an examination of the jaw, neck and thoracic spine, including all muscles and joints. Treatment is also included in the first session.
