Kylie is originally from the small town of L’Anse au Loup in Newfoundland and Labrador. She graduated from Memorial University with a Bachelor of Physical Education and a Bachelor of Education, and after a short time teaching, she went on to pursue a Master of Science in Physiotherapy at Dalhousie University!
Since graduation she has completed continuing education in various areas including concussion management and her Acupuncture Canada Certification in Dry Needling.
Throughout her undergraduate degrees Kylie worked with varsity athletes providing sideline coverage as a student athletic trainer while also helping coach athletes of various ages in a variety of sports. She has continued with this passion as a physiotherapist, including covering volleyball provincials & nationals and most recently the North American Indigenous Games as part of the Host Medical team! As a physiotherapist Kylie has worked with a variety of patients including athletes, veterans, along with individuals who are recovering from workplace injury & motor vehicle accidents.
Kylie is passionate about helping patients achieve their personal goals through individualized treatment plans. She places a high value on patient education and uses tools from her education background to support her patients with individual learning styles, to ensure they feel informed about their care.
Her treatment plans include education, manual therapy, therapeutic exercise programs as well as and pain-relief modalities. She is a firm believer in lifelong learning and in the coming year she plans to continue taking courses to broaden her knowledge and skill set including working towards her Sports Physiotherapy Certificate. She is currently one of the Athletic Trainers for the U18 Major Halifax McDonalds Hockey Club!
Outside the clinic Kylie enjoys golfing, skiing, playing volleyball and exploring Nova Scotia. She also spends time writing and playing music.
