Mallory Fisher
I believe that there is a lot of power in being heard in a non-judgemental manner and that the counselling experience is meant to be collaborative. Therefore, I honour each client’s expertise in their own lived experience and work alongside clients to determine how I can best support them and their hopes for counselling. It is important to me that my clients feel empowered during their time in therapy to make informed decisions, both within the context of counselling and out in their lives. Some theoretical lenses that I draw from include narrative therapy, solution focused therapy, and dialectical behaviour therapy.

I have a specific interest in how individuals relate to themselves and others. As such, some of my areas of focus include body image concerns, disordered eating, self worth, embodiment, relationships, and identity concerns. I aim to support clients in learning about themselves, their values, their emotions, and their needs. I approach concerns related to food, the body, and movement from a weight inclusive lens.
I have a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of British Columbia and a Master of Education Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge. I am committed to lifelong learning in the fields of counselling and psychology. I value continued education not only because I care about providing competent care to best support the wellbeing of my clients, but also to fulfill my own curiosities about the human experience, growth, and connection. To find grounding in my own life, I like listening to music, exploring the outdoors, and spending time with loved ones.
