Background
Man Keen Yeung graduated from Thompson River’s University in 2008 with an honours degree in Cellular, Molecular, and Microbial Biology. He then went on to complete his Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy at the University of Alberta and graduated in 2011. Man Keen has experience working with complex patients through a long-term disability program based out of Edmonton, which involved treating patients that have not improved through conventional rehabilitation methods. A comprehensive and multifaceted approach involving a structured exercise program, appropriate manual treatment, and addressing any social and psychological factors was required to return the patient to their functional goals. He also has experience with treating high-level athletes from the Edmonton Lacrosse team and understands the urgency of returning an individual to their goals in a timely and efficient manor.
Man Keen has taken advanced courses in manual therapy and is qualified to do spinal manipulations. He has also taken additional dry needling courses and is qualified to do intramuscular stimulation in order to release tight tissue as well as to address the neurophysiological component of the injury.
Staying physically active has always been a primary focus for Man Keen and he has been involved with competitive soccer, rugby, swimming, and martial arts from a young age. He is also passionate about sports performance and has experience with various forms of competitive weight training such as power lifting. He has trained with national level power lifters and understands the demands on the body with competitive sports. In his free time Man Keen enjoys music, collecting records, weight training as well as various outdoor activities such as snow boarding, biking, and hiking.
