This program is designed for athletes of any sport to be completed prior to their season where they will undergo a series of mini tests designed to determine their healthy levels of cognitive and physical function. The data collected becomes a personalized baseline score. In the case of an athlete sustaining a concussion throughout the season, it is highly suggestive to book into the clinic to get re-tested and evaluated by the Physiotherapist that initially did their baseline scores. Throughout the rehabilitation process, their post-injury scores will be compared to their personalized baseline results as a criterion to determine when it is safe for them to return to play. Without these personalized baseline scores, return-to-play decisions are made based on generalized data that does not consider your athlete’s personalized factors such as age, gender, etc. This can put the athlete at risk for potential long-standing brain injuries.
