Angela trained as a dancer in Contemporary Modern dance along with other forms to a professional level at the Toronto Dance Theatre. She was awarded a scholarship at the Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance.
Her experience reached a new level after giving birth to her first child. She studied at the internationally acclaimed BirthLight for Perinatal Yoga and Baby Yoga with the founder Françoise Barbira-Freedman in the UK in 2004. Her training continued with a certification for Pilates through the Pilates Institute UK, YogaKids foundation, Stott Pilates Total Barre and is a Certified Yoga Teacher from The Yoga Centre of Burlington.
Angela offers simple yet precise instruction to keep the student safe in a pose and allow them to feel capable during the practice. She studied and develops modifications that aim to build strong alignment so participants feel progress. She hopes to guide those who work with her to nurture and trust their inner guru.
Angela leads classes at The WOMB Burlington teaching Prenatal and Fertility Yoga to guide women through yoga to develop inner-strength during times of immense growth. If that’s boosting fertility, conscious conception or adjusting priorities for baby, when a woman is nurtured and balanced, she can focus on what’s important now and lead a powerful life. Through movement, including breath, visualization and meditation embraced on and off the mat, this intention will foster confidence and a strong positive mind and body at any stage of Motherhood.
Angela is also part of the Pelvic Health Physiotherapy team led by Dr. Sinead Dufour to teach Pelvic Health Yin Yoga and Barre for Pelvic health. She loves taking her two teenage girls on adventures and encouraging them to have healthy lifestyle habits.
