At the completion of her massage training, Kim was honored as recipient of the Award of Merit for her thesis on the Psychological Affect of Arthritis. Kim holds a Bachelor of Education Degree from the University of Regina Majoring in Special Education which has been a great asset to her work in the field of massage.
Kim's keen interest in Craniosacral Therapy (CST) has led her to take courses from the Upledger Institute and Visionary Craniosacral Therapy from the Milne Institute. She has also taken Pediatric Craniosacral Therapy with Benjamin Shields. Additionally, she has trained in Neuromuscular Technique, Visceral Manipulation, Chi Nei Tsang, and Myofascial Release enabling her to develop effective tools in assessing and treating a wide variety of conditions and dysfunctions with her extensive advanced studies. Kim has been practicing since 1991.

Craniosacral Therapy is a gentle way of working with the body that utilizes the Cranial Rhythm in a diagnostic and therapeutic way. The Craniosacral system consists of the membranes connective tissue and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord. Since this vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord, an imbalance or restriction in it could potential cause an number of sensor, motor or neurological disabilities. These problems could include: Autism, Anxiety, Chronic Fatigue, Chronic Neck and Back Pain, Colic, Depression, Fibromyalgia, Migraine Headaches, Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Scoliosis, TMJ, Traumatic Brain and Spinal Cord Injuries.

Myofascial Release Therapy is based on the idea that poor posture, physical injury, illness, and emotional stress can throw the body out of alignment and cause its intricate web of fascia to become taut and constricted. Scarring or injury to this network of connective tissue is a major cause of pain and impeded motion. This modality aims to alleviate these problems by breaking up, or "releasing", constrictions or snags in the fascia.

Visceral Manipulation is a manual therapy consisting of light, gentle, specifically placed manual forces that encourage normal mobility, tone and inherent tissue motion of the viscera and their connective tissues. These manipulations have the potential to affect normal physiological function of individual organs, the systems they function within, and the structural integrity of the entire body. All pathology of the viscera results in what we will call visceral restrictions. When this happens, the viscera in question is no longer freely mobile in its cavity but is fixed to another structure. The body is forced to compensate for this situation, which leads to a functional problem and eventually, if the compensation is inadequate, to a structural problem. Irritation, with time, creates inflammation. Inflammation causes tissues to produce exudate, which in turn forms adhesions. Adhesions by their constricting actions produce interference with normal circulation of blood and lymph. This creates congestion, which in turn affords a breeding ground for undesirable bacteria and accompanying fermentations and toxins. Kim also incorporates Chi Nei Tsang which is an ancient Oriental Healing Art that focuses primarily on the abdomen. Both these modalities encourage the internal organs to return to their optimal position while restoring their natural unrestricted movement; restore vitality by triggering detoxification; improves digestion, elimination and stimulates the lymphatic and circulatory systems. The intention is not to present Visceral Manipulation as a substitute for medical evaluation and treatment.
