Fire cupping is a traditional therapy, often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, that involves creating suction on the skin using heated glass cups to promote blood flow which in turn will reduce pain and inflammation. A flammable substance drenched in alcohol is briefly burned and placed inside the glass cup, creating a vacuum and the cup is placed on the skin to cause the suction. Fire cupping can address muscle pain, joint pain and certain respiratory concerns. Gua sha is a traditional therapy, often used in Traditional Chinese Medicine, where a smooth-edged tool (often made of jade, ox horn or rose quartz) is used to scape the skin, aiming to improve circulation, reduce inflammation and relieve pain and tension. Gua Sha can address musculoskeletal problems like muscle tightness and pain, tension headaches and migraines and facial rejuvenation and lymphatic drainage (when used gently on the face).

A Follow-Up Acupuncture Treatment is a continuation of your healing journey, building on the progress from your initial session. During this appointment, your practitioner will assess your response to the previous treatment, discuss any changes in symptoms, and adjust the treatment plan as needed. The session typically lasts about 60 minutes, with fine, sterile needles inserted into specific acupuncture points to restore balance, reduce pain, and promote overall well-being. Additional techniques such as cupping, gua sha, or electro-acupuncture may be incorporated based on your needs. Regular follow-ups help reinforce the benefits of acupuncture, supporting long-term health and wellness.
A Gua Sha Treatment is a traditional Chinese therapy that helps relieve muscle tension, improve circulation, and promote the body’s natural healing process. Using a smooth-edged tool, gentle scraping motions are applied to the skin to break up stagnation, release toxins, and reduce inflammation. This treatment is highly effective for relieving muscle tightness, chronic pain, and stress while enhancing blood flow and promoting overall relaxation. Gua sha can also support the immune system and improve skin health. Sessions typically last 30-45 minutes, leaving you feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.
An Initial Intake Acupuncture Treatment is a comprehensive first session where the practitioner conducts a thorough assessment of your health history, lifestyle, and specific concerns before beginning acupuncture. The session typically starts with a detailed consultation, including questions about sleep patterns, digestion, stress levels, pain, and overall well-being. The practitioner may also observe the tongue and take the pulse to assess energy flow and imbalances. Once the assessment is complete, fine, sterile needles are gently inserted at specific acupuncture points tailored to your needs. This first session is usually longer than follow-up treatments, lasting about 90 minutes, to allow for a full evaluation and a personalized treatment plan. The goal is to restore balance, alleviate symptoms, and support long-term wellness.
