Beyond Birth & Babies: What AHS Doesn't Cover (Group)
Beyond Birth & Babies: What AHS Doesn't Cover (Group) · 60 min

**Minimum of three registrants required for the class to run. Registrants will be informed if the class will be cancelled due to lack of attendance. Option to change to 1:1 for OT hourly rate** If you want practical, experience-based guidance that goes beyond “Birth and Babies”, this session is for you! This session is designed for anyone pregnant in search of practical, evidence-based advice on navigating labour, delivery, and the early postpartum period. Written by a pelvic health physiotherapist and a women’s health occupational therapist, this lecture focuses on the things you can do now to optimize recovery, the kinds of decisions that tend to come up during labour, what to expect when plans change, and what advocacy can look like in the moment for the birthing person. We also cover early postpartum recovery, with clear, evidence-based guidance on activity pacing, managing pressure and fatigue, and avoiding common mistakes that can delay healing and your return to whatever makes you feel like you. It is about informed advocacy, collaborative decision-making, and setting yourself up for the best possible recovery, regardless of how birth unfolds.

Infant Feeding 101: Get Ahead Before It Gets Hard (Group)
Infant Feeding 101: Get Ahead Before It Gets Hard (Group) · 60 min

**Minimum of three registrants for class to continue. Registrants will be informed if the class will be cancelled due to lack of attendance. For a 1 on 1 approach please become the individual option** Led by a pediatric occupational therapist (OT), this session breaks down how feeding actually works, what tends to go sideways in the early days, and how to set yourself up for success before feeding becomes stressful, painful, or overwhelming. While feeding support is often framed through a breastfeeding-only lens, this session takes a broader, function-based approach. We cover both breast and bottle feeding, how babies coordinate sucking, swallowing, and breathing, and how factors like positioning, setup, and environment influence feeding success across feeding methods. Instead of waiting until something feels wrong, we focus on what to notice early, how to support your baby’s coordination, comfort, and regulation from day one, and when early support can prevent small challenges from becoming bigger feeding struggles. This isn’t a “do it perfectly” lecture. It’s about understanding what’s typical, what’s not, and when support can make a real difference. The goal is for you to leave with information that helps you make decisions before frustration and exhaustion take over. You will leave with practical tools, clear explanations, and a clearer sense of how early awareness and support can change the feeding experience, regardless of how you feed your baby. This session is for anyone expecting a baby, whether you plan to breastfeed, bottle-feed, combo feed, or have not decided yet. If feeding is about to be part of your life, this is for you!
